We are looking for a Lead Nurse for the regional cleft service as part of the team at Nottingham Children’s Hospital. As the lead nurse for the service you will provide day-to-day clinical and professional leadership and support for the team of clinical nurse specialists as well as linking with other healthcare professionals throughout the network. You will play a pivotal role in the development of nursing within the team and the Nottingham Children’s Hospital.
You will be responsible for the development of nurse-led services within the field, providing professional leadership to a team of Clinical Nurse Specialists to enhance the delivery of timely, quality care for children, young people and adults with CL&P and their families. By being a creative and innovative leader you will have the opportunity to develop services for the children, young people and their families both within the Cleft regional service and as a senior nurse within Nottingham Children’s Hospital. You will also be expected to represent the Trent Regional Cleft Network Cleft Nursing Service and on occasions the service as whole at local, regional and national levels.
The service is based in the City Hospital in Nottingham with services provided across a large geographical region in a managed clinical network; the Trent Regional Cleft Network. The Trent Regional Cleft Network is one of nine dedicated regional specialist cleft services in England. We care for all patients with cleft lip and/or cleft palate, and patients with speech difficulties caused by poor palate function, who live in Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire and South Humberside. Our clinical services are lifetime care services, but scheduled clinical care is mainly until 20 years of age. We are a committed multidisciplinary team dedicated to ensuring that all patients and families with clefts can have normal lives though clinical excellence, innovation and patient/parent empowerment
