An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 0.8 WTE fixed-term position available from May 2018 as a Clinical Psychologist with experience of working with medical/chronic health problems. The post is 12 months to cover maternity leave and would involve working with adults (0.2 WTE) and children (0.3 WTE) with burn injuries within a specialist burns service, in addition to wider medical difficulties within a generic outpatient service (0.3 WTE).
We are looking for a motivated Clinical Psychologist with an interest in Clinical Health Psychology and enthusiasm for working with both adults and children. The successful applicant will provide input across a number of medical specialisms, as part of a general adult medical psychology outpatient service (0.3 WTE), in addition to working closely within the burns MDT with both adults (0.2 WTE) and children (0.3 WTE). Clinical supervision will be provided by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist.
The post holder will be employed by Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and will be required to work across both campuses (Queens Medical Centre and City Hospital), likely travelling between campuses on some days. A free medilink shuttle service between campuses is available.
Applicants must have the personal qualities and resilience to be able to work in a busy acute trust setting. Relevant experience, either clinical or research, would be advantageous.
The successful applicant will join the Clinical Psychology & Neuropsychology Department within the trust. It is a supportive department which incorporates specialisms in Medical Psychology and Neuropsychology. We have excellent links with the University of Nottingham and the Trent Clinical Psychology Doctorate Course.
