Are you a collaborative, inspirational leader? Can you cultivate a high performance culture?
Are you ready for the opportunity to manage the strategic development and operational delivery of hard and soft facilities management services with an annual budget of circa £40m and 975 wte staff?
Do you have the experience of devising effective business plans and setting the strategic direction for future service provision of all Estates and Facilities services?
If you answer yes to these questions, we are excited to hear from you.
We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational leader with exceptional professional, negotiation and communication skills. You will have a ‘can do’ attitude and a proven track record of credibility with key stakeholders internally and externally. You will be a suitably qualified and experienced individual with the skillset to provide a full deputising role to the Director of Estates and Facilities (EFM). You will lead operational estates and facilities management and be instrumental in supporting the DoEF with the Trusts transformational plans and capital, property, risk, statutory compliance, the Tomorrow’s NUH programme, business and commercial services and fire risk management.
This is a newly created position which strengthens our current strategic leadership capacity and will provide careful oversight of the development of workforce (including staff engagement), culture, performance management, risk management, investment and capital strategies to safely manage transition to a future state.
You will need to have a breadth and depth of estates and facilities management experience at a deputy director or senior level. You will have the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders and also have the credibility and capability to work collaboratively with clinical staff as the post will also be closely aligned to the Clinical Divisions and a cohort of Divisional General Managers, focused upon business continuity and the patient experience.
The condition of the NUH estates and particularly primary infrastructure and distribution systems and fabric will need careful stewardship until the Tomorrow’s NUH programme delivers the investment necessary by way of a series of major business cases. You will have excellent governance and risk based methodologies for interim urgent investment in your toolkit. You will define necessary engineering strategies for the current and future states and be the lead professional advisor for engineering and statutory compliance into the DoEF and Tomorrow’s NUH programme and all business case estate annexes. Aligned to estate specific statutory compliance is the need to ensure fire safety compliance and work with the fire safety team to develop safe fire systems across the Trust.
You will take the lead role in driving the delivery of NUH’s response to the national agenda set by the Carter and Naylor for EFM.
Interviews and assessment centre will take place week commencing 5th March 2018.
