TEACHING FELLOW IN GENERAL MEDICINE & ACUTE RESPIRATORY CARE UNIT

An exciting opportunity has arisen for either a one or two year Teaching Fellow Post that will work clinically for 2.5 days in the Acute Respiratory Care Unit and 2.5 days teaching Medicine for Medical Students for the Undergraduate Medical Education Department.

This post is ideal for a doctor with MRCP seeking to establish a career in any of the medical specialties that is either between core medical and higher training and wants a break, or a higher specialist trainee as an Out of Programme for Experience who has an interest in Medical Education.

The principal role of the post holder will be to deliver teaching on the General Medicine Course (CP1 & CP3).  The post holder will also contribute to both the delivery of the teaching and develop new initiatives in medical student teaching. The feedback from medical students on this course is of a very high standard, so we are looking both to maintain and enhance the reputation of both the course and the Department.

There is also the opportunity to gain a higher degree by working towards the Masters in Medical Education, which the Trust will provide support with. We also actively encourage our Teaching Fellows to be innovative in their teaching practice and there is also ample opportunity within the Department to present locally, regionally and nationally at medical education conferences.
