Due to one of our band 6 Occupational Therapist’s successfully applying to study for a PhD we have a static band 6 post within the Medicine and Oncology Team. The post is 37.5 hours and for a period of 3 years on a Fixed term/Secondment contract.
As a team we cover a variety of wards including oncology, haematology, renal, palliative care and respiratory.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in this clinical area as well as a broad range of experience at band 6 or band 5 levels. The post holder will be required to provide support for band 5 OT’s, band 4 and 3 colleagues within the team and act as a clinical educator to students. A flexible approach, excellent team working, organisational and time management skills are all essential to this post.
We are looking for individuals with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate working in close partnership with MDT colleagues to provide an effective OT service to our patients to support the Trusts objectives.
You will also need to be enthusiastic, be forward thinking and have a problem solving approach to patient management. The successful candidate will be expected to work alongside Band 7 OT’s in maintaining a high standard of clinical assessment and treatment
You will be provided with supervision by your team leader and support in transition to a band 6 role if needed.

NUH supports 7 day working and you will be required to work flexibly across seven days and across campuses as required to meet the needs of Therapy Services.
